Oreo's Story

Some stories begin long before a child takes their first breath.

Before Oreo was born, we learned she had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and life-threatening congenital heart defect that affects the left side of the heart. Like many families receiving a diagnosis they never expected, we were suddenly introduced to a world of medical terms, uncertainty, and decisions no parent ever imagines having to make.

On March 24, 2026, our beautiful warrior, Orinaya Soluna "Oreo," entered the world. From her very first moments, she demonstrated a strength that continues to inspire everyone around her. Within days, she underwent her first open-heart surgery, beginning a journey filled with courage, resilience, faith, and hope.

Since then, Oreo has faced more challenges than most experience in a lifetime. From extended hospital stays and surgeries to feeding tubes, countless procedures, and daily victories that many would overlook, she has continued to fight with remarkable strength. Every smile, every milestone, every ounce gained, and every day at home is a reminder that even the smallest hearts can carry extraordinary courage.

Oreo is more than the inspiration behind Soluna Heart Foundation. She is the reason this foundation exists. Through her journey, our family discovered the importance of awareness, education, community, and having someone who truly understands the road ahead. Her story has become a light that we hope will encourage and support other congenital heart defect families walking a similar path.

Oreo's journey is not finished. It continues to unfold one day, one appointment, one milestone, and one miracle at a time.
